The reason for this blog is so that you can post anything 'Romantic'. I want to compare romance from past to present.
If you could take some time and add a text message, story, letter, card, photograph or anything you consider romantic, I would really appreciate it! You can also add any negative stories of breakups or nightmare relationship, all info is wanted and needed.
You can email me on claire-danielle@hotmail.co.uk if you have trouble uploading anything and I can add to the page for you.

This photograph is from our 1st year together, 5 years ago!

  1. My Romantic Treasure Hunt

I set up a game for my girlfriend once. After planting some gifts and notes I sent her a text message hinting at where the hunt began. She found a note with a riddle, leading her to another part of the house where a small present was hidden with another note leading her to the next present. After finding around 4 presents she was later greeted by a delivery of flowers and with this came a note asking her to text me back to gain her star prize. After receiving the flowers I got a message saying she'd discovered everything I'd planted and was texting for the star prize. I replied congratulating her of solving my riddles and that she had a table for two booked the following weekend at a posh restaurant in town........romantic?

  2. I don't think romance needs to be all fancy and posh at all. Valentines day this year, I spent eating take away pizza, drinking cheap beer and listening to music with my boyfriend in his car looking over our motorway bridge. We do leave each other random notes though, just things like "have a great day xx" and "I love you gayface xx" etc :)

  3. I used to talk to my boyfriend a lot via email whilst we were both at work and one morning I had no reply for a few hours, so I sent him a quick text and he said his email was down. An hour later my boyfriend arrived in the reception of my work place holding a huge bunch of flowers and he took me out for lunch, I thought that was really sweet, it was a total surprise.

  8. She loves me, she loves me not...if you were a man,I would know how you felt.I would know the rules, know the boundaries.I could ask you.
Do you see me? Do you see what could be? I will wait until your vision focuses.

  9. Text messages after our first fight!! I thought they were quite sweet:

'Please. You need to let me see you before you go. I did something stupid, but I didn't do anything more than that. I don't even have the capability to be with anyone else, not to hurt you in that way, or risk what I have with you. I can't do anything but worry about what you must be feeling. I just need to speak to you properly.'

'I wanted to come over since you first messaged me, and I should have explained those things to you a long time ago, because you deserve to know more than anyone. When I promised not to lie to you again I meant it, and it killed me to see you upset like that. You mean so much to me and to upset you in anyway hurts me so much that I'm going to do everything I can never to upset you again.'

  10. We started off as best friends in year 10 at school and our friendship grew really strong and we spent loads of time together. He fell in love with me and I knew if I started dating him that I would only hurt him and it wasn't worth ruining out friendship and I told him this. He said "my feelings won't ever change" and he was in love with me for five years. I always felt bad when I was in a relationship because I could see the hurt in his eyes, but he was a gentleman about it and we were still great friends. Just over a year ago he got a girlfriend and I was so happy for him. Straight away I got dropped. No more text messages, nothing on Facebook and he wouldn't come see me. I tried for months to include him and his new girlfriend in any plans I made with anyone and tried to get to know her, but neither of them were interested. Bit of time passed and now there is nothing. It's like we were never friends to begin with. I don't know him anymore and he doesn't know me. It wasn't until everything fell apart that I realised how in love with him I really was had been the entire time. They are now engaged and they says things about me behind my back. Hope they are happy together. They deserve eachother.

  11. I am hopelessly romantic which is surprising considering my past relationships which have been rocky to say the least. I love the idea of 'Mr Right' and I have a huge collection of 'romantic comedies'. I guess because they are so perfect, in every way and imagine my next relationship to be like one of these :-) Pretty Woman (of course), Love Actually, What Happens in Vegas, Monster in Law, Notting Hill, Wedding Planner, Bridget Jones, Wedding Date, Made of Honour, Hitch, Definitely Maybe, Music and Lyrics, Along Came Polly, 50 First Dates, The Holiday and so the list goes on. Love and laughter.

  12. I’ve been reading books that contain love letters from hundreds of years ago, from Ludwig van Beethoven to Oscar Wilde. The reason the words are so romantic and passionate is down to the fact that lovers were separated for months or maybe even years and their only form of communication was by letter, how romantic.

Now we can send an email or text message and receive it almost instantly. As part of my research my boyfriend has said he’ll write me a love letter and post it. So I have no idea what it will contain or when it will arrive, don’t you think that’s way more romantic than a text?

  13. Awww...this has made me get all romantic, been looking through old pics of me and my boyfriend.
The best love by far is when you can be completely yourself around someone, and know they'll always be there for you. When you can say absolutely anything about yourself, even something you're ashamed of, and that person is still there with you.
Those butterflies at the start of a relationship, when you have this need to know every little thing about someone are amazing. But knowing it, and having that person with you for certain is even better.
Currently with me being at uni we're nearly 300km away from each other which is so hard, but I'm an old romantic and determined to make it through.
    love > everything.

  14. This year my valentine was the begger next to the cash machine on Market street. I gave him some change a week or so before and was feeling a bit stingy this time, so instead I handed him my favourite Thorntons chocolate egg

  15. I don't want/need fancy gifts to appriciate or express our love although I say this time and time again to hubby but he always has done this (who I've been with since summer 98) but he still sends me big bunches of flowers every birthday, anniversary & valentines day without fail! He put's little foil love hearts in most of my cards ...he's such an expensive romantic unlike myself I love nothing more than showing my love with a plain text or I tend to pop a little 'I love you' not in his lunch or on his computer monitor from time to time :-) and the best thing ever is still having them ' butterfly' feelings when we cuddle or kiss after all these years :-) I couldn't wish for a better soul mate, lover & best friend :-)

  17. I believe in romance and love, I didn't use to, but since I met my soul mate my opinion of love changed dramatically. To be able to trust another person, rely on them and not only call them your boyfriend but your best friend it is the best feeling in the world and I now feel totally happy and complete :)

  18. faye this is my favorite poem17 March, 2011

i carry your heart with me i carry it in my heart i am never without it anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling
i fear no fate for you are my fate, my sweet i want no world for beautiful you are my world, my true and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart i carry it in my heart
